We want to make sure you have the most opportunities to interview with potential clients, so today we are going to talk about profile pictures. Since your profile is the first thing that families see when they are looking for caregivers, it is crucial that you make a wonderful first impression. That starts with your photo! Here are some guidelines to ensure that your picture meets CareFamily standards as a professional, friendly photo of your smiling face to introduce yourself to the families. Here are the kinds of photos you should use:
Let’s clearly showcase your lovely face to the families hoping to hire you. If your photo appears blurry or out of focus, it won’t appear on the site.
- Not a weird angle
While we appreciate your artistic abilities, in order for a photo to show up properly on your profile, it needs to either vertical or horizontal, not diagonal or with unusual borders or text.
- Only of you
Don't share your spotlight! Remember, the family is hiring you—not you and your pet, or you and your family or friends.
- Your face is visible
While landscape photos are beautiful, be sure to avoid using a picture that is so far away that we can’t see your face.
- No sunglasses
Similar to above, we need to be able to see your face in order to accept the photo.
- Professional clothing
You are trying to display your competence and professionalism. Now is not the time for an edgy outfit. You want people to be reassured that you are the safe, right choice for their family.
These families are going to trust you with a beloved member of their family. They don’t need to see your best duck lips, or a grouchy expression. I know this seems like it goes without saying, but you’d be surprised what people upload on the site.
To upload a professional photo of yourself on the site, log on to your dashboard, click on your profile, and click “Change” under your profile photo. Then you can “browse” the available photos on your computer and choose the one you’d like to upload. Last, click “save” and you will be all set! If you have any trouble uploading your photo, please feel free to attach it to an email sent to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will be glad to upload it for you. Please include in your email your first and last name, so that we will upload it to the correct account. Best wishes in your job search!
