I am a retired Human Services worker. Specifically, I taught Elementary Education(grades 1-3)for 15 years in the US Virgin Islands until the devastation of Hurricane Hugo. At that time because schools could not open those teachers with tenure were given the option of early retirement. I was trained as a FEMA reservist to assist with aid for the Island.
Returning to the States I pursued a Social Work career and worked with Aids clients, the Developmentally Disabled and Homeless clients all in Group Home settings. Additionally, I worked with Foster Care youth preparing them for a smooth transition from care.
I consider myself a "people" person and like working with those who need not just care but compassion and understanding as well.
I feel my broad range of care-giving from the very young to the elderly, coupled with my education, gives me the ability to bring quality care to those in my charge.
