I feel called to helping people. Families I work for ask me to come back. I work well with people. The client's personal needs, safety, and social needs come first. I also don't mind doing housework and cleaning while taking care of personal needs. I have strong local references. A recent agency manager wrote that if her mother ever needed care she would want me or someone like me. I am highly educated (graduate level). I earned a CNA certificate this January. I am a retired hospital chaplain and minister. I served 15 years in the Air Force reserves. I am often quiet at first checking to see what the person is like. I have a gentle sense of humor; I'm great at taking care of details. I like to interact with clients and their families. My ideal clients are non-smoking females who can communicate their needs and enjoy conversations. My worst client would be a dominant male with memory loss. I can do transfers and am comfortable with gait belt. I would not be good for some one who is very heavy and is dead weight. I am a white female who works very comfortably across cultures and with the GLBTQ community. Though I have stated preferences, I am willing to consider just about any situation. I do like 12, 24 and live in shifts. I am willing to travel longer distances for 24 hour shifts if more than 2 days at a time.
