I immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 2004. In Ukraine, when I was a student I worked as a CNA in the Mental Health Care hospital. I also worked in the facility where children have some disability or positive TB. Later when I finished my education I started to work in the Pharmacy. After several years of taking English classes and other courses, I decided to become a volunteer in the nursing office at Laguna Honda Hospital. Although I enjoyed working in the nursing office, I realized that I preferred working with people more than documents. I got to meet several nurses who described the nursing profession and influenced my decision to try and pursue a career in nursing as well. I enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant Program. During this program, I had clinical rotations at Laguna Honda and General Hospital. In December 2010 I got certified as a CNA, HHA and Acute Care nurse. I have always loved working with people and I wish that my experiences can be helpful.
