I became involved in caregiving when a friend from church, whose mother had terminal cancer, asked if I could give him some help with her care. I'd done a lot of housecleaning work and cooking as well, and so caregiving seemed a natural skill to add to my resume. I ended up caring for her for a year, making sure she took her meds, helping her in and out of the bed and wheelchair, cooking meals, running errands, etc. I really enjoy helping people, especially helping them to remain in their home environment, where they are most comfortable and happy. I am educated, compassionate, and caring. In my spare time I practice yoga and meditate. I have three cats and am vegetarian. I have worked for years as a housekeeper and cook, and have two years of caregiving experience as well.

Related Interests & Hobbies
I am a very health conscious person, someone who eats healthy foods, practices yoga and walks daily. I adore cats (have three), and love cooking. In my spare time I enjoy reading and writing (I keep journals, and write fiction on occasion). When time permits, I'm also a fan of getting out into the wonderful parks we have here in Santa Rosa, like Annadel and Spring Lake.
I practice Zen meditation and am a very spiritual person. I am open to many different spiritual traditions and I do not proselytize. My years of spiritual training have given me a much deeper, more compassionate perspective.
