Profile

I am currently entering my last semester at the University of Colorado in Boulder. I am majoring in Integrative Physiology. With over seven years of special needs assistance, I am devoted to continuing my work with special needs children. As a Youth Treatment Counselor at Imagine! in Longmont, CO, I was fortunate enough to be part of a behavior team at a group home that initiated and implemented behavior plans for severely disabled teenage boys. I believe this knowledge would allow me to contribute as well as collaborate on different ideas. Also, working as a Mental Health Worker at Devereux allowed me to see the complexities concerning foster placement. I have experience working with a wide range of disabilities and disorders; Autism, Fragile X, Severe Mental Retardation, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Substance Abuse, GALT, Crohn’s Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Brittle Bones, Alzheimers and Oppositional Deviant Disorder. I am also trained in nonviolent crisis intervention programs (NVCI and SPA training), as well as First Aid and CPR.
