I was introduced into the medical field in the mid 80's. I started out working in a group home setting for the physically and mentally challenged and realized this is a great way to help those who are not able to help themselves. In 1989, my mother had a stroke, which left her paralyzed on the left side. She was a hard working independent woman and it was difficult to watch how it affected her not to be able to take care of herself. It was then when I saw the real need and importance of being a caregiver and giving quality care to people who are at home or in a facility, with the dignity and respect they earned and deserve.

Related Interests & Hobbies
I like to cook and try out new dishes. I also enjoy going to the beach and having family gatherings.
I am very active in my community, helping the youth and the elderly, organizing block clean ups and getting ready to start a garden in the empty lot at the corner of my block so we can teach the youth how to grow fruits and vegetables and to have a resource for our community to eat from.
