I first got involved with caregiving when my parents became sick with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. I spent most days caring for them over a three year span until they both passed away. After that, I realized that I really missed caring for people who needed help so I began working as Program Director for Mt Lebanon Village where I planned transportation for seniors, scheduled activities, and provided information regarding assistance available to seniors. I still drive MLV members to Dr appts, grocery stores etc on a regular weekly basis. I would be available for errands or just a friendly ear for your loved one. I love hearing stories from all of my older MLV members about their lives and have made many new friends in the process. I don’t have a nursing background but I have a great respect for older people and would be a friendly companion. Taking care of our seniors has become my passion.

When my Mom and Dad were sick, I hired a gentleman to take them out to lunch and just have conversation once a week while I worked. He brightened their day and they looked forward to seeing him each week. I would like to be that person to someone and make their day a little brighter.
